William George Harvey

Laid to rest: Grangegorman Military Cemetery, Cabra, Co. Dublin. 300-48CE (New Plot 758)

Born in Brightwell 10th March 1900 and enlisting in Abingdon. He died of wounds recuperating in Ireland 17 October 1918, aged 18. We belive he was wounded during the Battle of Tabsor, Palestine September 19-20 1918 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tabsor#75th_Division_attack_the_centre) and died whilst recuperating in St Bricin's Military Hospital formally King George V Hospital.

Thatch End is the cottage adjoining the Red Lion and the family were living there in the 1911 census. In the 1901 census they are shown as being on the Swan Path along with three other families.
